Rain - Today is the second day in a row that we are feeling the residual aftermath of Hurricane Frances which hit Florida earlier. It seems to be a common trend: the southeast gets hammered and after the hurricane dies done, we get the leftover rainfall. Hurricane Ivan will probably do the same. The extra rainy days we've been having this summer make Michelle go a little stir crazy from cabin fever. To be fair, being stuck inside beats having your property destroyed by the high winds.
WiFi - I'm currently taking a lunch break from work at Panera, which has free wireless internet access. Did you know that supposedly nearly all McDonalds will have wireless access included with meals by the end of the year? Interesting that 4 years ago our company was trying to gauge which wireless technology would be dominant down the road: Bluetooth or WiFi (802.11). While they don't have exactly the same roles, WiFi wireless networking is just exploding relative to Bluetooth.
Daniel - Tuesday Daniel had another one of his episodes of vomiting for several hours. It's been hard to figure out what causes this as it seems to happen every couple of weeks. I can't find a correlation with anything he eats, especially since Michael eats the same stuff, but never gets it. I'm thinking it's systemic and not bacterial/viral. Perhaps Daniel has a food reaction that Michael doesn't. I want to discuss it with his pediatrician soon.
Fuel - Today we took delivery of a ton of wood pellets to fuel the stove this winter. It's roughly the equivalent of a cord and a half of split wood, but takes one third the space. Plus, unlike split wood you can store it in the garage since it's stored in individual 40 pound bags (like pet food) that shouldn't attract insect pests like ants, termites, etc.
Naps - I've been getting a lot of laughs lately about the picture of Daniel asleep at the toilet. It was taken about the same time as the picture of Michael asleep on the floor by the front door. Ironically earlier that afternoon, neither one wanted to rest. On the bright side, at least when they miss their naps, they go down to bed before 7:30. They don't put up a lot of fuss.
