Supreme Court - Whenever President Bush (or any Republican president for that matter) mentions God, a certain faction has convulsions. In a small way I can now relate when I read the recent words of minority leader Nancy Pelosi regarding the recent Supreme Court decision on eminent domain now extended to taking land for private use:
“It is a decision of the Supreme Court. If Congress wants to change it, it will require legislation of a level of a constitutional amendment. So this is almost as if God has spoken.”
My eyes are rolling so much it's unhealthy. It's no wonder the upcoming nomination for a replacement Supreme Court justice is going to be ugly — with talk of extremists, right wingers, etc. If the voice of the Supreme Court is almost like the voice of God, you want to make sure it says what you want it to, eh Nancy?
