Job hunt - I've been logging quite a few miles these past couple of days. I've done two interviews in Massachusetts and am in discussions about a third opportunity much closer to home. I hope to have a more settled idea in the next week or two. As is common in such situations, each opportunity has its pros and cons. There are issues of money, travel, stability, and interest to weigh into consideration.
Sleepover - Claire had two of her friends over for a sleepover last night. Michelle took Abigail, Claire, and her two friends out to Target. Michelle's goal was to pick up a gift for a friend of Abby's whose birthday party she goes to tonight.
Piano - Claire is done with practicing Christmas piano music and is back to her main practice books. Currently she is working again on The Entertainer and now on Minuet in G.
Decorating - Michelle evaluated two new valences for the windows in the dining room. Currently our dining room is silly. It was used as a play room until we finished the basement last spring. Now the dining room is a big empty room with a decorative overhead light fixture, two oversized windows, hardwood floors, and no dining room set. I'm sure that once I'm secure in some new employment, that'll be near the top for renovation, along with new couches to replace our very worn 13-14 year old ones.
Confession - We took the whole family to church this afternoon so that Michelle, Claire, Abigail, and I could go to Confession. It's was Abby's second time and the first time more than half of us have gone at once. We're debating whether to go to Mass together tomorrow or do 'split shifts' since the boys were reasonably patient at church.
Timothy - We had some encouraging signs today. Today Timothy pee'd on the toilet for the first time. He's done so twice, three, four, five, six, seven times today. He barely says a word but he's a sharp fellow. He picks things up pretty quickly. I'm sure there's also the aspect of being just like his brothers. He's seen them use the toilet plenty of times. Now he feels he's 'playing in the big leagues' just like Michael and Daniel.
Five years - It's now been over five years since I started writing and putting pictures and audio on the internet. It all started in December of 2000 once I wanted to start getting things together (web-wise) before Michelle delivered the twins. Want to 'dial up the wayback machine' with me? There's Michelle a week before the twins were born. Newborn pictures of the twins when they were still 'baby A' and 'baby B'. Claire learning to memorize and recite Robert Louis Stevenson poetry as part of her homeschooling: The Cow (text), Bed in Summer (text), and The Swing (text). Going back a smidge further, you can see some pictures from before I learned how to make an album: December 2000 and January 2001. Someday I should go back and "album-ize" that stuff. It has too many memories to keep in simple 'directory listing' form like that!
Update (Sunday morning) - I tweaked the December 2000 and January 2001 pictures to be 'album-ified'. It was something I'd been wanting to do for quite some time. On the January album, if you click on the individual full screen pictures, you will be able to see the full resolution image from which it was made. I didn't want to toss out those hi-res versions when I made the album.
