Early this morning:
Michelle: What's dopler look like?
Scott: Well, usually it's a map with moving blobs of color indicating precipitation, but that's not important now...
Michelle: Very funny... now show me a dopler map so I know what to expect today.
Interviewing - I went to another job interview yesterday. While there is a "back way" to get from there to our home in Milford, it was dark when I left the building and was afraid I'd get lost by missing a turn somewhere. I wimped out and just took the highway home instead. An hour and a half — and that was with little congestion. Brutal! I'm not sure how much time I would save, if any, by taking the more direct back roads. It's a great opportunity and a cool place to work, but what a drive!
Bingo - When I got home, Michelle immediately left me with Mighty Timbo and took the girls and three of their friends to Milford Elementary where they were having a kids bingo game night. When it's just me and Timothy, he actually is a pretty well behaved boy. He followed me around while I changed out of my suit, made myself a quick dinner and him a little snack. I helped him use the toilet (good boy!), brushed his teeth, and helped him get into bed. One on one like that, he can be a good lil' doo-bee. But add Abby or the twins into the mix, and he gets wound up pretty easily.
MLK Holiday - After Michelle came back and the girls went to bed, I briefed her on how the interview went. Mentally I was tired from the day's questions, but then I had a recollection: "hey, I have a three day weekend now!" Just me, Michelle, and the kids for the next three days. I'm not sure what we'll do. I looks like a lot of rain is planned for today. I know that I need to look into the lock on the front door. It's binding and making it hard to close the door behind you. Abby had a friend sleep over last night and I'm sure there'll be more sleepovers and friends in and out all weekend. If only there was some snow for sledding. For the past few days it's been sunny and skirting 50°F … in southern NH … in mid-January. What's going on?! If I honestly thought driving an SUV would cause this, I'd be seriously considering one.
Memories - Oh no! I'm feeling another "dial up the wayback machine" moment. It's Michelle with her hands full back in summer of 2001. Just look at those bundles of smiles and curiosity! Now that the twins are almost five, it would take some serious back and bicep stamina to do that! It helped that she was (and still is) very fit.
