Then and Now

The twins at birth and 5 years old

5 years - Today marks the twins' five year birthday. Five years ago Michelle and I went from man on man defense to zone defense. “You watch things upstairs, I'll cover downstairs.” “You watch the girls, I'll take the boys.” All births are life changing events, but having a set of twins really kicked things up a notch. And then we had Turbo Timbo…

Actually we're not going to celebrate their birthday until this weekend. We'll celebrate Timothy's third birthday at the same time. We figured they are not old enough yet to understand celebrating their birthdays separately. They think of themselves as virtual triplets. If the twins were getting gifts and Timothy wasn't, Timothy would get emotional. A similar result would occur on Timothy's birthday.

Click to see the albumPhoto Album - In between various events today I worked on this album. There are a lot of pictures of the twins on their birthday. I also snuck in three pictures of Michelle due to my personal biases. <grin> And for a change, I'm in two of the pictures. It's the standard photographer problem: the photographer is rarely in the pictures.

I'd write more, but I've already spent more time on the computer than I'd like to today.

Happy Birthday Boys! I'll try to send something out for Timothy for the weekend birthday celebration!
I love the pics, especially you and the boys. Is Claire trying to let her bangs grow out? She looks older with them pulled back.
How many end of January days have the boys been able to ride the car outside? Nice!
I never want my own grill, ever.

Hi Lyss,

Yes, Claire has been trying for months to grow her bangs out. Initially she was having quite the time pulling them back, but now each week it gets better.

Riding the jeep outside today was an excuse for me to stretch my legs (walking alongside) and for the boys to get outside and breathe some fresh air.

Michelle likes the wood pellet grill. Plug it in, flip a switch, 5 minutes later it's up and running. The food doesn't taste like it was cooked over propane. It's about as simple as a typical cooking stove, but with the taste of cooking over a wood barbeque.

Once again, great pictures Scott - Mom & I really enjoyed seeing them. We are both anxious to see the kids again along with you and Michelle. I also want to try out that pellet grill! I've never seen one before. I will try to call Grandpa Bilik today to remind him to go to your website to see the pictures. Have a great day.

great pix. lovely family. We've been having a run on multiples the last month - several sets of twins and even some triplets! The 'balmy' weather the last 3 days was just wonderful, too bad we're getting socked again today. I'm so glad that I didn't have to drive in to work today (jacknifed truck at Exit 3 of the Everett, road closed) but tomorrow is probably going to be almost as bad.

Hi Alyssa,

Just wanted to let you know that your gifts arrived. And, true to form, they've already burned through some batteries! No matter how often you tell little boys to turn things off when they're done with them, they still just put them down and let the batteries run down... *sigh*
