Bed hunt - Michelle and I were out looking for a bed to put into the boys room. Currently Mighty Timbo sleeps on a small mattress on the floor. We did the same years ago when the twins first moved out of their cribs. They slept on mattresses on the floor for a while before they got their bunks. Now it's Timothy's turn to graduate to a real bed.
Boston Chowda Cafe - While we were out browsing, we found that just this week, lil' old Milford got a Boston Chowda. I was surprised that they would choose Milford of all places. All the rest of the franchise locations are much closer to downtown Boston. Relatively speaking, we're out in the sticks. While I'm not much for chowdas and bisques, their other soups, stews, and sandwiches looked good. Later when I picked the girls up from gymnastics, I surprised them by taking them there for lunch. Claire and I each had a chicken pot pie while Abby had some chicken soup.
Piano - When I got home I took a quick catnap as Michelle dropped Abby off at a friend's house and Claire at a birthday party. When Michelle got back I sat down at the piano to record Claire's practice version of the William Tell Overture (source ). It's kind of tricky to record with its mix of half, quarter, and eighth notes, loud and soft, legato and staccato, with occasional use of the sustain pedal.
Target - After Timothy woke from his nap, Michelle and I took the boys to Target. I needed some new work slacks. The Gamecube needed a larger memory card. We needed to get some Valentine's Day stuff. While we were there we noticed that there is a movie version of Little Einsteins called "Little Einsteins: Our Big Huge Adventure". While you can rent it, our boys are such fans, we bought the DVD. After they ate dinner, we let them watch it to help them unwind before bed.
Alas, now the younger four are in bed. Michelle and I are watching yet another episode of Firefly called Our Mrs. Reynolds. We have to stay up a while before I pick up Claire from her non-sleepover sleepover birthday party. It's a sleepover party but Claire doesn't do sleepovers. Yeah, it'll be a long night.
I saw that DVD when I was looking for birthday presents, but I figured they had it already. They had the CD, right? I still haven't gotten anything for Timbo, and I have sick kids, so it may be a while. Sorry.
Lys
Hi Lyss,
There's a Little Einsteins CD? Really? Or did you mean something else?
Lately my boys have developed some ugly sounding coughs. If I had a nickel for every time I say "please, cover your mouth"... I get especially unnerved when it's at the dinner table. Gee, thanks for coughing on the food guys. Pass me the mashed potatos and phlegm, I mean, gravy.
Posted by: Scott at January 30, 2006 10:55 AMI think I am remembering incorrectly- it was maybe a Lazytown CD you bought them reccently, right?
I figured the Little Einsteins DVD would be something you already had on TiVo- is it episodes or a movie?
Lys
Hi Lys,
It *was* the Lazytown CD that I bought (downloaded via iTunes Music Store) for the kids. This Little Einsteins DVD has not (yet) been shown on Disney. It is about an hour long movie, not like the 25 minute episodes that they normally show every day.
Probably in a few months Disney will do a big promotion about the movie being shown on their channel, but I haven't seen any mention of it yet.
