iPods - Folks often joke about when a fake story from The Onion later does happen in real life. Last November SNL did a Weekend Update skit where actor Fred Armisen playing the role of Apple's CEO Steve Jobs introduced us to the upcoming iPods. In the skit Jobs tells us about how the current Nano is "old, obsolete" to be replaced by the iPod Micro, the Pequeño, and the Invisa.
Today I had to break it to Claire that her tiny iPod Shuffle was now "too old... too big... obsolete". Today the Shuffle has been replaced by a newer, smaller model. The new Shuffle isn't much bigger than the control dial. It simply clips onto a belt or pocket. I was a bit surprised they didn't call it The Pequeño. But does it play Pong?
Tuesday - Today was a pretty routine day, albeit gorgeous weather-wise. Michelle got to be super taxi mom, taking both Timbo to his morning class and the twins to their afternoon class. Did I ever mention that despite the scheduling differences, all three boys have the same teacher? How many teachers have ever taught three brothers within the same school calendar year? Talk about your “compare and contrast…” I'm happy to report that Timothy again did fine being dropped off at school. I think he's really adjusted to it as a part of his new routine. In the early evening Michelle substitute taught a step class for a fellow instructor who needed a last minute sub. After the kids went down to bed, she and I watched an early old episode of Mork and Mindy. In this one Mork gets seduced by actress Morgan Fairchild. Funny, but I think we'll skip that episode with the girls.
Wednesday - Tomorrow the steam cleaners come to do the high traffic carpets, the couches, and perhaps the minivan. When we moved some furniture tonight, it only reinforced how badly it is needed. Our couches are crying to be replaced but we want to wait until we know the boys won't do something like color them with marker or pen. In the evening Claire has a piano lesson. She has a neat new song I should post soon, but there is only so much time once the kids go to bed…
I saw all the new ipods the other day and it made me think, why should fix my broken obsolete nano when i can get the new nano with 8G memory and longer battery life!
