Claire - It was weird tonight. We only had four kids... on a school night! Abby had no one to bicker with.
Claire is up in Freedom, New Hampshire at Nature's Classroom. With minor exception for those who opted out, the entire Milford Middle School sixth grade is up there. I hope she sleeps well tonight.
Jetta - "The Red Car" (as Timothy calls it) will be in for a fuel filter change tomorrow morning. Last week I gave it a tankful of biodiesel. While the car can take it, if you haven't used it in a while, it's solvent properties can give the fuel system a bit of a cleanout. I noticed some hesitation under heavy throttle so I'm taking this first step tomorrow.
Opus Dei - Today on the drive home, I finished the audiobook of St. Josemaria's "Friends of God". There are only two published collections of his homilies and this event marks finishing them both. I've owned the two books for years but only with this commute time and the availability of audio versions of the titles have I been able to get through them.
Have you heard from Claire? How is she doing? Amazing the difference one less makes at home, especially the helpful one!
Lys
Hey- there's no St. Barbara at the saint of the day site- Cass is looking for a Confirmation name!
Lys
Hi Lys,
It's been weird. Four nights in a row I've come home and Claire's not been here. At least when she was by you, we could call her. She'll be home today a little after lunch time. It's predicted that she'll want a home cooked meal, a shower, and a nap.
That particular Saint of the Day saint info site can't have every declared saint. There are far more than 365 saints. ;-) Luckily there are plenty of Catholic information web sites with information on St. Barbara. If she chooses it, I think it's a great choice to honor your mother-in-law, as well as the actual saint.
Hope you're doing well juggling mothering and being a teacher. I can't imagine how busy you must be now!
Posted by: Scott at September 28, 2007 06:34 AMYes, my life is kinda crazy right now- hopefully it's for the better though- I'm trying to manage it all and stay sane, patience does start to wear thin by the evening!
We have to start looking at those websites soon! Which do you recommend?
Lys
I'd guess so. I have a co-worker whose wife is a high school teacher. When she gets home, she doesn't have much time for the house and the *one* child they have. Coming home to five children while still doing lesson planning and paperwork? Yikes.
I don't know if I have any recommendations on sites related to saints. I think most of the ones you'd find on Google would be good. Get a few sources and compare. Sorry. For audio, I occasionally enjoy The Saintcast on SQPN.com.
