Dropped Claire off at school and had a smooth commute in. Judging by the forecasts, it may not be so smooth when I need to return home.
Listened to SaintCast #86 (related link) and a lil' "Threshold of Hope" (related link) on the commute in.
The Milford school system dialer just called to let us know that the kids will be sent home around lunch time because of the weather.
Weather Underground changed their HTML format again, but this time it's very badly formed and my HTML parser barfs on it. Argh!
I think the school's computer automated dialer is calling me once for each of my children. "Yes, I know already, please stop..."
The sleet and freezing rain is looking nasty. I'm going to head home and finish the work day from the home office before I-495 stops moving.
Thank God! I'm back home safe and sound. The highway was every environmentalists worst nightmare: heavily salted to keep them unfrozen.
The 2/3's of my trip that is back roads was not as simple. I had to take it slow and be thankful for my winter snow tires.
I just put the twins to bed after watching a new 'Diego'. The girls are watching 'The Game Plan'. I did a little reading.
I''m going to overhaul my weather scraping script to use Weather Underground's mobile HTML page. It's simpler to interpret.
Fixed my script that scrapes the weather from Weather Underground for our site. Hopefully this version will be more robust long term.
Michelle and the girls enjoyed 'The Game Plan'. I saw bits of it while debugging Perl code. It looked like a decent Disney family film.
An ice storm warning is still in effect until midnight. I pray that we don't lose power. Neither the stoves nor furnace work without it...
