Michelle's a bit nervous today. She meets with high level school staff to discuss Michael's progress. I wish I could be with her.
The mtg was originally tomorrow, when I could attend, but Wednesday I have mtgs and conference calls down at the Marlborough office.
Reviewing what we've seen so far, it looks like we have to keep up his reading momentum but focus on boosting his math skills now.
Today is going to give us our first taste of summertime with highs around 85°F. That's almost too much, too fast. (related link)

Wished Michelle well w/the school admins. Dropped Claire off. Sunny, smooth commute in w/65°F temps. Enjoyed more of my audio book.

My boss gave me a good tip. Keep a spare shirt at work for those times when you spill food. This morning I spilled a bit of coffee on mine.
Finally done with my morning o' conference calls. Time to call Michelle and see how things went with the school admins.

Briefly tried out Facebook's new IM feature with @BoredMind.
Went to RCIA at 7:30pm. When I got back, Dad and I watched an episode of "Criminal Minds" on CBS. I'd never seen it before.
Well, how did it go at school?
Posted by: alyssa at April 24, 2008 12:30 AMIt went fine. Before going in Michelle was leaning towards letting Michael move on to second grade. I'd reviewed his testing charts with her and explained them in more detail to her. While he lags Daniel by a month or two, both of them have accelerated a lot in the past six months. We're going to keep at it with both of them, especially through the summer, and hope we can get them caught up when they start second grade in the fall.
Posted by: Scott at April 24, 2008 06:00 AMI used to keep an entire spare set of clothes in a drawer at the office along with shower supplies - came in handy a couple of times with spills and the rare looming-deadline double-overnighter (one of the bathrooms at work has a shower).
Posted by: Bill White at April 24, 2008 10:55 AMGlad to hear it went fine. If you've seen growth, that's a great sign- they will really be okay.
Also, I did what you did with Will's present, but for Abby. I was so excited that I oredered her gift over the weekend, but I forgot to change the SHIP TO address and it arrived here yesterday. Hopefully I'll get it in the mail to Abby tomorrow. Tell her I tried!
