Weather - I feel bad for the kids. Most of this week has been marked with unseasonably cool temperatures, overcast skies, and frequent rain. All of this coincides with their spring break. Most of Massachusetts had the week before off, which had day after day of awesome weather (as mom and dad can attest). And of course the forecast is supposed to improve starting tomorrow since they head back to school.
Saturday - Saturday morning I went to the local Golds Gym for a workout. Most of the year I've been just using my Marlborough Golds membership to access our local Golds through their "alliance" exchange program. At the end of June my Marlborough membership expires but Michelle knew of a limited time offer to get me a cheaper membership at the local Golds. The new membership started at the beginning of the month. Once I got home after the workout there wasn't much to do around the house, and we headed out around mid-afternoon. We swung by St. Patricks so that Michelle, the girls, and I could go to Confession. From there we went down to southern Nashua so that we could have an early dinner at Smokey Bones. From there we went to the mall to pick up the guide book for Mario Kart on the Wii. While I watched the boys play in a mall playground, poor Michelle got sidetracked by a pushy salesman in the middle of the mall who insisted she buy some overpriced moisturizer. She managed to avoid the pitch for $40 moisturizer.
Sunday - Today was special because Claire and Abby had their first ever time altar serving at Sunday morning Mass. Luckily they had two experienced servers with them so that their role was primarily observing. They'll serve again in two weeks while taking on a little more responsibility. As usual we went out for breakfast afterwards. Because the weather was so gloomy, Abby and I worked on photos from our cameras again late this morning. Her shots often need a little more "work" to get them ready because her camera has issues with color casts, a much weaker flash, and her composition. The results are blended together in this album. I also took some pictures in my camera from when dad and I went to see some antique cars showing here in Milford last weekend. Rather than put them on the site, I just put them up on the Flickr photo sharing site starting here. Once I got both sets of photos uploaded I took Claire, Timothy, and Daniel for a string of candlepin bowling. When I got back, I got to enjoy a Grand Prix round on Mario Kart Wii. While the kids have been playing it for days (I did say we've had a lot of rain...), this was my first extended time with the new game.
Future - Of course tomorrow things get back to business as usual. The kids all go back to school for their last two months of the school year. They get out late in June. Shortly after school gets out, Claire is going to St. Petersburg, FL for about 10 days. We bought the ticket a few days ago. Claire's good friend is visiting family out there and Claire is going along to keep her company. While she's down there, she's looking forward to seeing Suzanne and Brian now and then. The other big trip we planned is a whole family visit to Michigan near the end of the summer. It may be torture, but we plan on driving the trip. We're hoping that now that the kids are older, they can discipline themselves on the trip and not drive each other crazy. Time will tell…
