A belated good morning! I dropped Claire off. Michelle dropped Abby & the twins off. As if she doesn't teach enough, she's taking a Step class now while I'm VPN'd into the office for the day. At 10 o' clock the wood stove cleaners come by for the annual spring cleanout.
Stove cleaner has started on the first wood stove. UPS dropped off my latest read, "Called to Love." (related link)
Web site Gizmodo does a decent job explaining the potential in GPGPU to folks who would think I'm just stuttering letters. (related link)
The ever curious Timothy wanted to use our Kill-A-Watt to measure something. Together we measured my current gen MacBook. Typing email: ~14Watts. Downloading/Playing Youtube video: ~27Watts. Playing only (download complete): ~22Watts. Overall, it's roughly in the ballpark of my old iBook G4. Impressive considering how much faster it is.
Took Michelle to Red Arrow Diner for lunch. I had fried bologna, Boston baked beans, and warm New England brown bread. Yankee comfort food? You betcha! Stopped for coffees on the way home.
Excited and confused. A rare antique book that I ordered at the beginning of Lent arrived just now. Wondering what the heck the postal service did with it all this time? BTW, the book is Dom Bernard Orchard's "Catholic Commentary on Holy Scripture" (1951) Must write the shipper to let him know it finally arrived.
Laughing at this blend of politics and "Princess Bride": "You keep using that word stimulus. I do not think it means what you think it means." [Hat tip: James Lileks (related link) ].
Been reading about the nature of the Google "outage" and can see why some folks saw it and others didn't.
Was a lazy bum and didn't go to Golds tonight. Just feeling too tired and down on this gloomy looking day. MIght head to bed after I get the boys down to bed. On the plus side I finished the first DVD of Season 1 "Big Bang Theory". The number of ways it reminded me of dorm life in my college days was just downright creepy.
Folded the whites, tucked the boys in, now listening to some friends on (related link) while studying.
