Good morning! Spent some time this morning discussing plans for the upcoming week. In the second half I will be a bachelor 'holding down the fort' while Michelle & the kids head up to Lincoln, NH. For now it's time for me to get up and head down to Boxborough, MA.
Smooth but gray commute in. Finished Jim Butcher's "Storm Front" near the state line. Switched back to Niven/Pournelle's "Escape from Hell" for the rest of the drive. Have less than two hours left to go on that book. I have a fair amount of paperwork to deal with this morning, some legal, some trip reimbursement stuff.
Woot! Diesels took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at LeMans. (again) (related link)
Favorite made up word seen today: "retrosexual". I'm assuming it means a lust for things with retro styling, like this one which pulls at my heart. (related link)
Some say Twitter jumped the shark with Britney, Oprah and Ashton Kutcher. I'm thinking it may be now that there's a Commodore 64 Twitter client. (related link) I'm sure the well intentioned geek thought, "because I can!"
Left the office a little early to make it home in time for a Step & abs class at Golds. Now to snarf a quick dinner and head to an Opus Dei circle.
Back from tonight's circle. Discussed today's "not eye for an eye" Gospel and also the topic of chastity, esp. within marriage.
On the drive home I finished Niven/Pournelle's "Escape from Hell". It was okay, but I don't think it was as good as their "Inferno", the novel to which this is the sequel. Not sure what I'll listen to next, but probably Jim Butcher's "Fool Moon".
