Weekend wrapup

Posted by Scott at 09:50 PM

Saturday - When I last wrote, it was early Saturday morning. Due to problems at home, I missed the gym class I'd hoped to take. Between delays leaving Milford, heavy traffic around Concord, and other issues, we arrived at our destination about an hour late. The boys watched Toy Story on DVD along the way. We had a great afternoon up at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. My friend Dave took Michelle, the boys, and me on a boat tour around his side of the lake. We spent a couple of hours swimming. My boys got to try their hand at canoeing while the girls went out tubing. I took some nice pictures in the late afternoon. We wrapped things up with a tasty barbecue of simple hamburgers and hot dogs. On the drive home the kids enjoyed Brendon Fraser in George of the Jungle.

Sunday - Since we were gone yesterday, we were somewhat dreading today. Yesterday's trip made us postpone yard work. We got up for 7am Mass, as usual, followed by a visit to Donut Fresh Express afterwards. When we got home it was too early for lawn work and the pool didn't open for a few hours. That's when Abby helped me edit some pictures that were sitting in her camera. Once the editing was done, we head to the Milford pool. Sundays are special at the Milford pool because it's the only day you can bring pool toys, like tubes for floating. Man, it was warm and muggy and the water felt great. Click to see the albumYou know it's uncomfortable when Michelle keeps getting in the pool and going underwater to keep her hair wet. Around 3 o' clock we picked everyone up some frozen treats and head home. It was time to face reality and mow the lawn. After Claire's off and on begging all summer, today I finally let her take several laps around the yard on the tractor with me walking alongside just in case she got confused with the controls. She was doing fine, but after a while I had to kick her off so I could get the yard done before sunset.

Photos - After dinner I finished the work necessary to take the morning's photo edits and create/upload a web album of the results. You can see them here. I started with 60 pictures in the camera but used 43 in this album. I hope you enjoy 'em!
