Good morning all! It's the day we've been dreading for weeks: Michelle's first chemo infusion. "Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing." John 15:5. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13.
Michelle jokes about the "doorbell" that was installed in her last month (ie. her port) will be rung today. "Ding dong." She says she'd like to say, "Nobody's home..."
All the kids are at school. We're at the oncology waiting room, checking in.
Wait... wait... wait...
They're acessing Michelle's port for the first time and doing some pre-med work.
Michelle and I are back home. Having the port makes the administration of the medicines much simpler. On the drive home we stopped by the wig shop and picked up the wig Michelle ordered. It looks a lot like her own hair with a new "do". We're also eyeing the scarves, caps, etc. because we'll need a few of those for our cold New England winters.
The boys and I watched the latest "Ice Age". In short, that series should be finished after that sequel. Michelle is resting soundly now, but had a reaction to one of the treatments a couple of hours ago. Luckily we're stocked with all kinds of mitigating medicines for a variety of anticipated symptoms. Fingers crossed that she feels more herself tomorrow.
