Good morning! After feeling like I was living in a mental fog yesterday, I slept solid from ~8:30pm until ~5am this morning and feel much better for it.
Dropped the girls off at middle school. Dropped the boys off at their elementary schools. I'm VPN'd into work for today. Michelle is taking it easy today, as she should.
Glad I'm well caffeinated. I'm reviewing specs for new formats of texture compression being proposed by Ericsson to see what we'll need to do to handle/accerate them in hardware. Yawn!
10.2% unemployment. sigh As an engineer I know it's not much different from 9.8% seen earlier, but crossing 10% is psychologically hard. This is supposed to be the USA, not France. My unscientific theory is that the magnitude of the stimulus encouraged folks to think "OMG this must be bad" and tighten their belts that much more.
Switched my Audible.com subscription from 2 to 1 audio book per month. Now that I don't drive 500 miles/week in commuting, I'm not burning through books like I used to...
Tamara Stearns Kucmas brought us dinner tonight. Afterwards Abby and I enjoyed watching a few new episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place. Good night all!

Comment: After working a lot with Google on Android phones, I'm glad to see this work starting to pay off.
Excerpt: As a technology columnist who has just spent a whole week getting used to the Android and appreciating it for what it is, however, I must say this: The Droid is as good as an iPhone.
