Good morning! Brr. 4°F The girls compensated by bringing out the griddle and making eggs and pancakes this morning. I cleaned and topped off the primary wood stove. I was up late trying to figure out what is going on with this old Dell laptop and wireless. In the previous version of OS I had wireless working fine.
Back from a great Step & abs class. Saw Michelle's radiologist in the locker room afterwards. It was nice to talk to him about something besides radiation therapy.
Ya-hoo! After reading numerous forums on how to get the ancient WiFi on this ol' laptop (~2003-2004), I finally got a recipe that works! I was this close to just running to the store to buy a WiFi PCMCIA card to plug in the side. The laptop is currently doing its software updates. (Hopefully that doesn't break things now...)
Tried to take the kids skating, but the parking at the rink was overflowing. So we're at the Pheasant Lane Mall.
Back home from the Mall. Doing more configuration of Claire's laptop. Boys playing SuperMarioBros Wii.
Thanks to Apple's "CUPS drivers" setting up the printer was a piece of cake on this old laptop.
Since this laptop is about half a dozen years old, at Gene Chouiniere's recommendation, I installed LXDE (related link) , the "Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment".
Watching "Chuck", season 1, episode 8, "Chuck vs the Truth" with the girls.
Going to try and start reading a Frank Sheed book. Good night all!
