Good morning! For the kids it's their first day back to school after their nine day spring break. A lot of yesterday's stickiness has passed, but it's still a bit uncomfortable out -- 73°F but 75% humidity. Looks like rain for the next couple of days.
Just dropped the boys off at their schools, and of course our girls an hour earlier. Michelle took my car to go teach her Step & abs class. I'm VPN'd into the office for the day, debugging tests as usual.
Thinking about kicking on the HVAC for a spell to break the humidity in the house. I also have this fear that if I wait until it's unbearable outside, I'll find it not working and then not be able to get a repairman.
My boys are huge fans of "The Penguins of Madagascar" and thus I've seen nearly every episode. In the entire series I think this is my favorite line. (related link) "Time travel. All you want to do is slap a hippy but instead you get multiple Kowalski's."
Michelle is back from her class. It was a full one today. Evidently with school spring break being over, all of the aerobi-mommies want to get back to their routines again.
No media outcry on the Bishops interfering on the subject of Immigration. Funny that. [Hat tip: Jeff Miller] But on issues of marriage, abortion, etc., we hear "separation of church and state!" "Keep your religion out of politics..."
Took Michelle out for lunch at Cafe on the Oval and a coffee run afterwards. Now she's on her way to Nashua Radiation Oncology Associates where they'll do a dry run/simulation. ~6 weeks of daily radiation therapy starts tomorrow.
Back from a good Step circuit class. It's always nice to get the heart really pumpin' after staring at LCDs most of the day. Ready for some dinner.

Privacy issues? Google engineers leaving Facebook in droves
Comment: Each month it gets harder and harder not to blame 'em...
Excerpt: The result is that lots of geeks are considering leaving Facebook, and perhaps even more interestingly, veritable droves of Google software engineers are among them. It is certainly fascinating to watch these Facebook departures from people who are early adopters, and deeply savvy about the Web.
HP drops Windows 7 from 'Slate' tablet, will use WebOS variant
Comment: Gee, with HP purchasing Palm last week, I'm not shocked. You can't run Windows on a tablet and be efficient. You almost have to start with a phone operating system. Few industries are more power conscious than the mobile phone industry. Trust me on that one. Biomed is probably the only other one that OCD about power.
Excerpt: Less than a week after computer maker HP agreed to purchase the struggling smartphone maker Palm $1.2 billion in cash, sources are noting that it will be removing Windows 7 from the Slate tablet, instead choosing to use a WebOS variant, arguably the best smartphone operating system available.
Pretty Little Liars - The Official Site
Comment: Claire wants to see this new show. Michelle and I are thinkin', mmm, maybe not. Any other parents getting requests for this? It's on "ABC Family" but a lot of stuff on this "family" channel does not seem very family friendly.
Excerpt: The Official Site of Pretty Little Liars features the Pretty Little Liars blog, contests, videos, and Sara Shepard's bestselling Pretty Little Liars books.
