Good morning! Still no snow expected this week, but I believe in the law of averages. And it's only a four day work week as we head towards the final days before Christmas. Ad majorem Dei gloriam!
Dropped the girls off at school and had a smooth, albeit gray commute into work. Offered up the Joyful Mysteries for the first half down and then caught up on news with my dad the rest of the way. It's already been a busy day at the office with more to come in the hours ahead.
Had some lunch with my former AMD co-workers. Supposedly it's 29°F but because it's overcast and windy, it feels nasty.
Kind of a busy afternoon. I had another candidate to interview and we did some local followup afterwards. I drove back to New Hampshire listening to more of St. Francis de Sales "Introduction to the Devout Life" along the way. I'm now in the midst of book 4 of 5 in his treatise on lay spirituality. I went straight to Golds Gym for the 5:30 Step circuit class.
When I got back from Golds, the younger kids were watching Nanny McPhee Returns which I had rented for them this past weekend. From what little I saw it looks good. After downing a quick bite of dinner, I head back out for an Opus Dei Cooperator's Circle. We discussed the Annunciation (today's Gospel) and the theme of Divine Filiation, a recurring theme in Opus Dei.
I should mention among today's driving two significant details: a) I crossed the 90K mile mark on Ruby, my Jetta TDI, and b) there was a dusting of snow as I was driving to the Circle tonight. In the latter there didn't seem to be enough to cause any serious accumulation, but it did make some hilly back roads slippery. Even as I rest here in bed now in this quiet house, I can hear the wind howling outside. I just pray we don't get a wind induced power outage like we had last winter... Good night all!
