Girls 1st day back at school

Posted by Scott at 09:54 PM

Good morning! After all the excitement and fun the girls had this past week, they found it a bit anticlimactic to be heading back to school this morning, I can understand the feeling. I dropped them off and head down to Boxborough. I offered up th Luminous Mysteries for the health of my mom, who was in the hospital overnight. I then finished what was available of my audiobook. I say "what was available" because the narrator only uploaded 4 of the 5 parts of the book thus far. Time to start thinking about another audiobook. I have lots of credits at Audible which I haven't used. 9:07am

Finally broke down and did the Windows 7 registry hack to make Caps Lock be Ctrl on my new desktop PC. When you do a lot of command line and emacs work, you press Ctrl a lot and Caps Lock almost never. Old terminals prior to the PC had the Ctrl key where the PC puts Caps Lock so my fingers still think it's there. In Linux and Mac OSX this is an easy fix but to this day it's still a royal pain to do in Windows. Editing the Windows Registry, really Microsoft? 9:53am

Today's grammar lesson: In this world of hi-tech, I have noticed that many who text message and email have forgotten the "art" of capitalization. Those of you who fall into this world, please take note of the following statement. I cannot stress enough that grammar is important: Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse. In the midst of testing I was listening to a podcast when I heard of Association of Large Families . Cool! And what a cool domain name: FourOrMore.org. 3:55pm

Currently @AmazonVideo offers "Rent 'Eat, Pray, Love' for $0.99 (related link) ". Will they pay me $.99 to watch it? Not enough! 4:10pm

Went straight from work to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (whose feast is today by the way) for another great Opus Dei evening of recollection. There was the usual format: 3 talks, examination of conscience, opportunities for Confession, and Eucharistic adoration. When I got home I had to do more preparation for tomorrow's RCIA class. I've been studying this upcoming Sunday's readings of the Baptism of Jesus. Good night all! 9:54pm
