Good morning! After being up late last night, I slept in 'til 8. I then took Claire with me to the Step 'n abs class at Golds. When we got home we all watched an episode of The Middle. Great episode about parents who just jump at every request their kids make.
Abby and I put the last of the Christmas decorations into storage until Dec '11. Then we went outside to dust the snow off the driveway. Once clear I took the family for a lunch together at Amigos. About to start playing "Megamind". The younger kids saw it over the summer one day when I was at work, so it'll be new to me...
Megamind was better than I expected. Usually I'm not a fan of Will Ferrell, but this was pretty good. Now the girls are finally going to finish their unpacking and clean their rooms. We gave them some slack when they first returned from Indianapolis (because of school) but now there's no excuse...
It's been a quiet afternoon. The predicted snow didn't really make it here, but it's not all that nice outside ~25-28°F and cloudy with light snow in the morning. I caught up on some internet news after the movie. In particular caught some bits about the shooting at Rep. Gabrielle Giffords rally. We don't know a lot at this point about the gunman, but it sounds like he was a bit unstable. I also watched a bit of live coverage as the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas was wrapping up. I had a simple dinner of grilled cheese, as the Amigos lunch kept me going all afternoon.
While Claire was showing me some of her GameCube Dance Dance Revolution moves [she's pretty good at it!], I remembered her phone has Java available on it and supports Opera Mini, so I installed it for her. It was trivial to download, install, and configure. The only hard part was figuring out how to make a shortcut icon to it in her "Faves" screen to launch it. I used to use it all the time in my Nextel phone days. It's so much better than feature-phone vendor supplied web browsers, maybe it would encourage her to actually browse once in a while. I wish I could've used it on my old Palm Centro. Perhaps if it had been stable on that phone I might've kept it longer... Palm pretty much abandoned Java support on the Centros. It was there but would often crash at random. But a lot of feature phones like Claire's have stable implementations of it.
Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers and called over to River Grove to talk to my mom. Sooo happy that my mom is back home and her breathing is better.
