Good morning! Poor Abby is back home and zonked out getting some sleep. I hear that she stayed up all night at the Lock In - swimming, rock climbing, etc.
The kids watched “Hotel for Dogs” this morning. Claire and I are back home from the Saturday morning Step and abs class at Golds. We swung by AutoZone so I could get a pair of headlamp bulbs for my Jetta. Luckily it's sunny, above freezing, and no wind. If I have to change a car bulb in winter, it could be far worse! Abby has slept off some of her overnight grogginess and is showing signs of life again.
After Timothy helped me change both of my car's headlights, I had some lunch and then took him to his piano lesson. Now I'm just sitting in the waiting room and reading while he has his lesson.
Since the boys watched the four classic "Herbie" movies earlier this month, today we watched the 2005 “Herbie Fully Loaded”, streamed to the main TiVo from Amazon. With a quarter century since the last classic Herbie (1980), Disney was able to leverage a lot more CGI and robotics for special effects. The boys were excited to see it but sad that it was the last one. They asked if there will ever be another one. “Who knows?” was all I could tell them.
Now that we're near the end of January, time to take a look over “the stack” that's been accumulating this month and see if we now have all the necessary tax forms. I hate having 1040 preparation hanging over my head. I hate even more paying taxes to Massachusetts. Taxation without representation anyone? Can I collect unemployment from MA? No. Can I use any of the state government's benefits? No. The only thing I use is their roads.
Enjoying dinner with the family at one of the Nashua Chilis. Thinking of hitting the GameStop afterwards for “Just Dance 2” for the Wii.
After we got back I did a brief demonstration to the family of what I'd worked on earlier in the day: the ability to stream video from my MacBook to any of the TiVo's in the house. I used the three mini-movies from Despicable Me as demos. Their favorite one was “Banana”. You can also see it on YouTube.
It was fun watching Michelle, Timothy, and the girls try their hand at “Just Dance 2”. Later I caught up on Michigan news with my dad. Eventually tucked the boys into bed with their prayers and the rest of us soon followed suit. Good night all!
