Good morning! We got a little more snow overnight. Michelle, the boys, and I went outside after breakfast and worked as a team to quickly get it cleaned up. There wasn't enough snowfall to warrant using the snowblower.
Claire and I are just back from the 9:15 Step 'n abs class at Golds. When I got home, since it was 31°F and sunny outside, I went to the mouth of our driveway to clear the ice that the plows blessed us with last night. I'll just consider it a little extra upper body strength training. Earlier this morning when we were shoveling there wasn't much I could do with it as it was frozen solid. It's important to clear it as soon as possible. Otherwise it blocks the melting water from draining off properly.
Dropped Abby off at our friends in New Boston so she could babysit while they clear their snow. When I head back I stopped by Subway to pick up three foot long subs for Claire, Michelle, and me. Timothy has had a friend from his class over this morning and when I came in, the two of them were playing Just Dance 2. It's so cute watching 2nd graders do that game!
Michelle 'n Claire ran out to DFE to get some coffees. Timothy and I watched the current episode of Hak5. Now it's time for me to dip my toe in that water that is income tax preparation. It's one of the things I dread about late winter. For Michelle it's waiting for the snow to melt. For me it's trying to handle the complications of the tax code, further complicated by being a NH resident (an income tax free state) who works in Taxachusetts.
Doing the happy dance! Since the central A/C unit we put in this summer was a 16 SEER unit, it qualifies for the full $1500 tax deduction.
Snicker! A Hybrid Silverado Pickup qualifies for a tax credit. My 45-50mpg VW TDI, nothin'. Dem's da' breaks.
Thankful that despite the huge amount of medical treatment Michelle received last year, we DON'T qualify for the medical expenses deduction.
From the tax software: "Note: You can't include the cost of commuting to and from your office or work site." At 75-80 miles per day that's kind of a bummer.
My favorite federal tax deductions: Michelle, Claire, Abigail, Michael, Daniel, and Timothy. ;-]
Breathin' a sigh o' relief. Fed + MA taxes filed for another year. A week earlier than last year but a week later than the year prior.
Abby returned on the late side. Tammy and her kids joined us for a couple of hours. After dinner her kids joined our in playing Just Dance 2. Watching little kids try to dance is definitely in the top ten things you should see before you die. Looks like another storm is going to leave us with snow overnight. Good night all!
