Good morning! It looks like it's going to be a chaotic 48 hours. I dropped the girls off at their schools. All three boys are staying home today because of elevated temperatures. In Timothy's case we fear he may have pneumonia like he had four years ago. He has a doctor appointment in a few moments. Meanwhile back in Chicago mom is having surgery to have a feeding tube installed today. And Michelle has surgery scheduled for tomorrow to have her chemotherapy port removed.
Well a doctor has seen Timothy and thinks, at least for now, he's just got the flu. According to the doctor it's really going around in Milford schools recently. Michelle has some antibiotics that he'll take for the near term. Considering it's been 3-4 days now, he should be "over the hump" and recovering soon with the help of rest, fluids, and antibiotics.
Mom is going in for her feeding tube now. Less than two weeks ago it was a tracheotomy. This is breaking my heart.
Went with an AMD friend to Il Forno for some lunch. Just needed to get out and stop looking at C code and pixels. While I was out the hospital called to confirm things for tomorrow's surgery. Also Timothy took his first dose of the liquid antibiotic. He was less than pleased. That's what happens when you can't swallow a pill Tim! I feel for ya' buddy. I couldn't swallow pills well until my mid teens...
Gave my coworkers a reminder I'd be home tomorrow. Left work at a reasonable time for a change. Listened to yesterday's Buzz Out Loud #1431 along the way. Timothy still sounds like he has some congestion but hopefully soon the antibiotics will kick in and fight this bug.
News: Google Voice Goes Mainstream With Sprint Integration: “Sprint today becomes the first U.S. national carrier to integrate Google Voice services across its handset line-up. The network operator’s customers can opt to replace their Sprint phone number with one from Google Voice, or if they already have a number with Google, can configure their handset to display that number for outgoing calls and text messages. This optional Google service will be available not only on smartphones, where it is commonly used today, but also on Sprint’s feature phones, as it gradually rolls out”
News: VLC Media Player for Android in 1-2 Months - VLC is my favorite media player on my laptop. It's like the Swiss Army Knife, playing almost any format you throw at it. When I got my phone last year, I was searching for a VLC type client. Looks like it might be here soon. In the meantime I use VPlayer.
