Good morning! Today is a day I've been looking forward to for almost a year. Last year when I took Michelle to her last Taxol treatment, I was disappointed that her “port” would stay in for another year while she continued to receive Herceptin through January. I had thought the Herceptin would stop with the Taxol. We had the last Herceptin January 19th, but there was a lot of dawdling in scheduling and then things got rescheduled. Today is finally that day the chemotherapy port will be removed. I'm taking today off from work to drive Michelle to and from the hospital. She will be “going under” for this so she would be in no condition to drive herself home from the hospital.
Just back from a morning Step class at Golds. Got home and am so frustrated. Michelle's surgery is rescheduled for a week from tomorrow. This after I've taken the day off and we pulled Claire from school today. On the plus side Timothy and Daniel are lookin' better...
Calmed our emotions by taking Michelle out for some lunch at Cafe on the Oval.
LGBT-funded poll falsely claims that most Catholics support same-sex marriage. Excerpt: “The first important thing to realize about the results is that the less Catholics care about their faith, the more likely they are to support same-sex marriage. The next thing to realize is that the majority of Catholics don’t actually support same-sex marriage. As soon as you introduce the reality that there are other ways of accommodating homosexual relationships into civil law without redefining marriage, support for same-sex marriage among Catholics drops off again. And yet we still see the headlines, Catholics support same-sex marriage.”

Since I had a little free time this afternoon, I revisited my WebGL demos (Example). They had broken recently because the existing browser implementations are getting more strict with the spec. There are things you can do in desktop OpenGL which are technically forbidden in WebGL. Chrome, Firefox, and Safari's beta are tuning their implementations to be more and more compliant with the limitations of WebGL.
I can tell Timothy is on the road to recovery. He's talkin' tech again with me. Discussing Evernote and Internet Explorer. Completely unsolicited. Hopefully Daniel is also on the road to recovery tomorrow.
Ran Mac Software Update and saw I have about a gigabyte of download between the OS update to 10.6.7 (313MB) and the Apple Xcode developer tools update (636MB). Yowsers! Think I'll be postponing that to an overnight download so as not to upset the kidlets who are happily playing on WebKinz at the moment.
Well if I was going to have an unplanned vacation day, I tried to make the best of it. I went back to Golds a second time tonight to take the Muscle Mix class. Between the cardio this morning and the strength class tonight, I think I should sleep soundly tonight. When I got home Michelle and the girls were watching another classic episode of Dr. Quinn. Say it with me: "Lady Doctor?!" The kids all have a three day weekend ahead as there's a teacher seminar tomorrow.
