The Sun Rediscovered

Good morning! I was a bit of a web dork early this morning. I was analyzing the performance of BilikFamily.com versus its mirror site on Amazon S3. Amazon has no capability to compress the data streams like a "real" web server but its request to response latencies are much lower. As a result if you are on broadband, the Amazon site finishes faster. If you are on a dialup modem, the efficiencies of data compression would make the real site load faster. 5:46am

Michelle couldn't help herself and listened to the news reporting about the Dancing with the Stars results. She could believe that Hines Ward won, but she was surprised that it was Chelsea Kane who ended up in third and not Kirstie Alley. We must keep our mouths shut because the girls don't want spoilers. Funny how I can't say "Spoilers" now without thinking of River Song as it's her trademark refrain. 5:54am

Dropped the girls off at their schools. Had to stop for a fillup. Glad to see diesel coming down in price. Had a smooth drive the rest of the way listening to Security Now #301. It's been a busy morning since arriving at the office. 10:10am

I'd love to knew why my phone thinks I'm in Danville, NH when I'm inside my Boxborough, MA office. I'm guessing it's the femtocell. 11:15am

Left work around 6 o'clock. Listened to a talk on Vitamin D on the drive home. Interesting, especially for those of us in northern climates that don't synthesize enough of this hormone from exposure to sun. Went straight to St. Pat's to give the RCIA exegesis on next weekend's readings. Afterwards we reviewed the Ascension narratives and the Great Commission. Lastly we wrapped up with topics (Q & A) suggested by the group a few weeks ago. I stopped by Subway on the way home for a quick sub. Now just got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Time to decompress until tomorrow. 8:59pm

Was doing a quick scan of my work Inbox to clear out the cruft before tomorrow and came across this interesting article: Beastly dual-core Android devices: A rundown on each chipset. I'm proud of how the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8x60 series rated. 9:37pm
