Memorial Day Weekend

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! I dropped the girls off at their schools. I'm a bit jealous of them today. Abby will be with her class at Canobie Lake Park while Claire's school will have its Spring Fling (don't call it a field day). But I had a smooth, sunny drive into work listening to my audio book along the way. Now time for a Bagel Day bagel. 8:45am

In work related news Qualcomm Completes $3.1 Billion Acquisition of Atheros Communications. It's our largest acquisition. 8:46am

YouTube video linkVideo: Snapdragon's Adreno GPU powers Sony's Xperia PLAY. Oo-rah! Always nice to see where my efforts end up. 10:41am

Bookmarking the new mobile friendly Doctor Who site on my phone. Have I mentioned our family is eager to see the part 2 followup to “The Rebel Flesh” this weekend? 10:59am

Looking forward to taking Timothy to the “1st Communion Reunion” tomorrow morning. 11:01am

~90°F?! Too much, too soon! See snapshot below... 3:59pm

It's been a long work week that's wrapping up! So ready for this 3 day weekend. Granite State, here i come! 5:39pm

Saw a bit of traffic on I-495 due to an accident but luckily I'm not on it for long. The rest of the drive was okay as I listened to my audio book on the first half. When I crossed the state line I called my dad to catch up on news back home. Now just enjoying some re-heated dinner. Michelle is determined NOT to turn on the A/C because she was just using the wood stoves a handful of days ago. Fans yes, A/C no! 7:08pm

Details of this monster cameraPhoto geek news: Hasselblad announces the 200-megapixel H4D-200MS camera. Something new for Photoshop to choke on. I wonder if it has one of those resolution settings so that you could dial it back to “only” 50 megapixels. *smirk* This monster camera will set you back about $45,000. 8:29pm

In the MacBook playing department I upgraded my aging version of Acorn to their latest version 3.0.1 for $20. Besides Photoshop Elements, I like to dabble with Acorn, Pixelmator, the GIMP, and Picturesque. There's 2 things I want to see if it's improved: white balance and aspect ratio cropping. Elements does both of those well but I'd like to see the others do it too. 9:23pm
