How to tell if a Democrat is in the White House: If you have three major military actions going on the Middle East, and the liberal group Code Pink is protesting the ban against dancing at the Jefferson Memorial.
Good morning! It looks like we're going to have one last summer'ish day here (~90°F) before we get back to the springtime that we seem to have skipped over. I have a lot going on today so I'll be working from home. First order of business, get up and get the girls to their schools.
IEEE Story: Interesting. A non-contact vacuum grip is used to allow this robot to climb just about any wall. They use a special kind of vacuum but the vacuum does not actually cause contact with the surface.
Dropped the girls off at their schools. Swung back and went for a haircut. Now busy triaging the morning email. Expecting the wood stove cleaners to be here in an hour.
BBC has put up a new teaser for next weekend's mid-season finale of Doctor Who season 6. They are so toying with us! (related link) But at least soon we'll know who River Song is. But you just KNOW that it'll end on a cliffhanger that leaves us waiting for the autumn return of the series.
Geek talk: So thankful that a co-worker found this website: IEEE-754 Calculators. It helps digital designers work with the internal representation of floating point numbers.
At recommendation of Security Now #302 having the 1st chapter of Russinovich's Zero Day sent to our Kindle.
The guy from StoveKeepers finished the cleaning of both of our wood stoves. At my recommendation he double checked the main stove's distribution blower and indeed it was crufted with cat fur. So they're all set for next autumn/winter. Then Michelle and I went downtown to Cafe on the Oval for lunch and DFE for some iced coffees. It's sunny, ~90°F, and a bit on the humid side. Happily using the new A/C (16 SEER's baby!) we replaced last year. Back to test writing...
Via wirelessly: Qualcomm 's vision is that the mobile device will become our "digital 6th sense" and the primary mean to interact with the world.
Via KatMcKinley: You gotta know John Edwards is grateful to Congressman Weiner today.
Golf ball sized hail reported in Plymouth, NH?! If so, there's no way I'm heading out to the gym tonight.
Finished work around 5:15 and head to Golds Gym for a Step Circuit class. From there I head over to St. Patricks to help with the exegesis portion of RCIA. It was our last session for the season. Classes will resume next fall. It'll be nice to have a few months off.
There was quite the change in weather conditions while I was in class as the severe front passed over us. Most of the day it had been overcast, rainy, and humid. When we left the rectory, you could see the sun setting, the air felt dryer, and the temperatures were around 70°F. We may be able to sleep with the windows open tonight.
Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers and then relaxed with the latest episode of Tekzilla. Now time to sleep and enjoy the cool, spring night! Good night all!
