Blagojevich Found Guilty

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! No kids to drop off and no school buses on the roads made for (relatively) quick drive into work. Today is the rare kind of day you wish you had a convertible. It was sunny and 65-70°F. 9:25am

Should Catholics Marry Young?, an interesting opinion from Pat Archbold. 9:55am

“This is a prime example of how alcohol can make individuals do things they would not normally do,” (related link) I'm a bit bummed that they later edited the story to take out that line. I also might have added a clause like, “whereupon the suspect broke out the big guns...” *smirk* 10:45am

Michelle took the kids with her to the YMCA so that she could teach her Step class. After they had a quick lunch, she then took 'em strawberry and cherry picking at Brookdale Farms in Hollis. 1:00pm

Renewed my spousal geek cred: Ejected a stuck DVD from my screen-locked MacBook back at home via an ssh session launched from here at work. Last weekend it had a scratch that was making it difficult to play from our TiVo so we used the MacBook's better optical drive to play the otherwise glitchy episode of "Dr. Quinn". But now I got a phone call that they wanted it out so that they could play another episode on the TiVo again. Imagine their amazement when I remotely ejected the DVD from my work desk. 4:49pm

NH News: Gov. Lynch has vetoed a bill that requires voters to show photo ID. Will his veto get overridden yet again? 4:51pm

Via RennaW: 1) Drunken sailors spend their own money 2) that they earned, and 3) when they're out of money, they quit spending. Compare that to Congressmen. 5:47pm

Smooth drive back to NH. Listened to podcasts most of the way and caught up with my dad near the end. When I got home, Michelle told me her adventures of cleaning out the dead mice from the wood pellet grill. Bleah! Why do they keep trying to nest there? It's not like we don't use it regularly! 7:02pm

Ah this grilled chicken... overtones of mesquite, onion, and .... mice. ;-] 7:09pm

Day Made! The Best Post-Exercise Drink: Chocolate Milk. Yes! 7:14pm

N.H. doctors can now treat Lyme disease with long-term antibiotics. Excerpt: “Doctors would often avoid treatment with long-term antibiotics due to fear of being brought up on charges by the Medical Board simply because it wasn't recognized as the appropriate treatment for Lyme disease. Patients would therefore have a hard time finding doctors in New Hampshire to treat the disease and would often seek help in other states.” 7:38pm

Bishop Vasa: gay ‘marriage’ supporters misunderstand sex, human nature. Excerpt: The real controversy, said Vasa, revolves around “a proper philosophical understanding of the nature of the human person, and the nature of sexual interaction between persons of the opposite sex.” It also stems from a general “failure to recognize and understand that sexual love is not about self-gratification and pleasure,” but about “entering into a relationship with another person which is by its nature capable of being fruitful.” 7:52pm
