Good morning! Dropped the girls off at school and stopped for breakfast at Cafe on the Oval.
Smooth commute down to Boxborough. Offered up a set of Luminous Mysteries and listened to a podcast the rest of the way in.

I am such a sucker for Amazon's classical music bundles. This makes 9 so far. 66 Must-Have Sensual Classics. The cover's a bit racy though... It's an homage to “Le Violon d'Ingres” by Man Ray.

Purchased Tasker for my phone. Will play with it more this weekend. Looks amazing.
Looks like the Qualcomm / NVIDIA competition is about to kick up a notch soon as NVIDIA plans 3G/4G soon. (related link)
Wow! 12 days later and The Kancamagus is finally re-opening this weekend. It was closed after TS Irene due to the Saco River flooding.

Skipped lunch because of the big breakfast this morning. Smooth commute home. Caught up with my folks most of the way with some podcasts filling in the gaps. Abby has a sleepover guest. Michelle bought a fire pit and some split wood today with plans to fire it up soon. And did I mention, it's taco night. Who doesn't love taco night? ;-)
Google is shutting down it's Desktop Search program? Wow, never thought I'd say this but I guess I'm glad for my work laptop I went with Microsoft Search. I'd looked at both products when I wanted to index my drive and make things searchable.
Roasting marshmallows by the fire pit on the driveway. The kids are loving it.
Who knew that just lighting a small fire in the driveway could bring so much happiness to the children. Roasting marshmallows, dancing and listening to music, hoola hooping, air guitar'ing, shadow puppets, running in the yard, etc. all under a clear sky with a full moon and ~60°F. They all went to bed asking, "can we do this again tomorrow?" I hope so, weather permitting.
In the early 90's I was excited that with MachTen one could kinda, sorta run Unix inside a Mac. Then in the early 2000's Apple came out with OS X and you actually were running a Unix in your Mac. Now with all of the developments in virtualization like VirtualBox and VMWare, I'm not only running OS X, but I can run Linux distributions inside of OS X. Only mind blowing when you think back to how far we've come.
It took ~15 minutes, but I downloaded, compiled from source, and installed CLISP on my MacBook. I remember once doing similar when I first moved to NH and it was a chore! How hard was it? "brew install clisp" Who says Unix has to be hard? Added benefit: 'brew' will keep it up to date with the latest updates as they become available.
