Mom Passes
Back at the hospital with my dad and siblings. Mom passed away about an hour and a half ago, around 1 o' clock. “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
Back in Milford having an early breakfast with dad and my siblings at the Red Arrow Diner since it's open 24 hours.
Michelle and I got the kids to their schools. I'm taking dad to my barber as he's been too busy to go lately and he wanted to get cleaned up.
At Davis Funeral Home with Dad, Michelle, and my siblings. I have been assigned the very awkward duty of taking my mom's “cremains” with me when I fly to Chicago next weekend. My family is going to rib me about that for years to come!
Having snacks and drinks at Martha's Exchange with the family. Since Suzy is gradually becoming a beer aficionado, she enjoyed the sampler that Marthas offers. See snapshots below.
On our drive home we got the call from Claire and picked her up from her last minute cross country training session. Once all home many of us crashed for a quick nap. Last night only gave us all a few hours of sleep and it was catching up with us.
Me, Michelle, Claire, Abby, Dad, Christopher, Suzanne, and Alyssa went out for one last memorial dinner at The Mile Away. It's one of the places mom always loved to dine whenever she'd come out to visit. Claire's girlfriend, Alex, came over to sit for the boys as they still don't have the temperament for long meals with lots of conversation. I'll be sad to them all head back tomorrow, but also know that I'll see them again in Chicago next weekend.
