Good morning and welcome to winter! From here on the days get longer, but unfortunately snowier. At least for the next few months. I dropped the girls off at their schools and head down to the office. I listened to a little bit of No Agenda on the back roads and caught up with my dad the rest of the way down. Today is my last day of work.
Continuing my Chevy Volt government subsidies rant from yesterday: “The average purchaser of a Volt is earning $170,000 a year…” (read more)
So... have you tried searching for "Let it snow" in Google? Cute easter egg buried there...
Back from lunch with five AMD guys (former coworkers) at Il Forno up in Acton.
I did not realize our chips were in the new Sony Vita handheld gaming platform.
Via @JimPethokoukis: “Remember how US fell back into Great Depression after govt. spending fell by 2/3 after WWII ... wait, what?”
"UFO clouds". See these cool looking lenticular clouds at the BBC. Some are quite stunning.
An HTC Sense version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich coming to the EVO line?? — Fingers crossed.
Hmm. Want to research more this weekend: Promising New Vaccine Could be Used to Treat Breast and Pancreatic Cancers.
Just remembered I never ordered a Moleskine planner/notebook for 2012. Perhaps I can pick one up from Barnes & Noble during the break. Gasp! A brick 'n mortar!
Need a bit of privacy? This is available for a cool $12 mil. Read more… Somehow I can see Al Gore buying this while telling us islands are falling into the ocean.
Wrapping up the year. Status reports written. Hours logged. More tests debugged. Time to start the Christmas break.
Left work for the last time this year around 5:30pm. When I got home I was surprised to find that Michelle and the girls were gone. Timothy informed me that Claire was at work, but Michelle and Abby got lost dropping Abby's friend off in Mason. Mason, NH at night? Yeah, I can see that.
Since yesterday Timothy got a brief taste of the Perl and Python languages. Today he installed BASIC-256 to get an idea of using the language many of us computer types learned back in the 80's: BASIC. He got a kick out of trying some simple programming fragments for I/O and graphics.
Picked up Claire from Subway. Once again she was shift leader so she didn't wrap up until about half an hour after closing. Unless she gets a last minute sub request (get it?), this should be her last time this year. Good night all!
