Good morning! We had a dusting of snow this morning, like when you sprinkle powdered sugar on a dessert. I dropped the girls off at their schools and head down to Boxborough, listening to more of my audio book along the drive. At the last 15 minutes of the drive I caught up on news with my dad.
Updating my work machines from Microsoft Communicator 2007 to Microsoft Lync 2010. Yes, enterprise users are slow to move to the latest.
Since I was so close when I got to work, I brought the CD in and finished up listening to “Reamde” while I took care of the usual morning routine. As a book it's just over a thousand pages. As an audio book it's 38+ hours long. I'd say it wasn't one of Neal Stephenson's better works.

Re: Last week's HHS ruling — “Obama’s decision also reflects a certain view of liberalism. Classical liberalism was concerned with the freedom to hold and practice beliefs at odds with a public consensus. Modern liberalism uses the power of the state to impose liberal values on institutions it regards as backward. It is the difference between pluralism and anti-clericalism.” (related link)

Went with two friends from AMD for lunch at Il Forno. Now have an afternoon filled with back to back conference calls.
Stay classy Occupy movement! Stay classy! Occupiers Dump Condoms on Catholic School Girls. I'll sounds like a broken record from yesterday, but imagine if this had been a Tea Party activist or a pro-lifer.
Smooth drive home, listening to a podcast for a change. Glad I'm through with the tome that was "Reamde".
Seeing people through the eyes of Christ changes your view of them. It's less than five minutes long and well worth the introspection.
Timothy got one of his birthday presents a few days early: a TiVo plushy. You laugh, but he thought they were cool and asked for one.
Watched the season one finale of Downton Abbey. Excellent drama! The season closes just as Britain has declared war with Germany in WW I, setting up for season two.
Claire took on a few extra hours at Subway tonight. Just got back from picking her up. While work wasn't as productive as I'd like (meetings and more meetings…), I'm happy I finished “Reamde” and “Downton Abbey”. Good night all!
“People from the synagogue official's house arrived and said,
‘Your daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any longer?’
Disregarding the message that was reported,
Jesus said to the synagogue official,
‘Do not be afraid; just have faith.’ ” — Mark 5
