Good morning! I dropped the girls off at their schools. Today is Abby's last real day. She has some finals. Tomorrow her class is supposed to go to Canobie Lake Park. I head down to the office, offering up the Sorrowful Mysteries for Michelle the first half and listening to today's readings and homily the rest of the commute.
Who-hoo! The cafeteria's special today was... Gyros! “It's like you know me!” I have yet to find gyros in New England as good as Squabs and other restaurants I've been to around Chicago, but I take what I can get.
Michelle had a good followup visit with her surgeon this afternoon. While things are still tender near the portacath, especially if Michelle lifts her arm straight up over her head, he was happy with how it's healing. She should be able to use her new portacath when oncology does a blood draw this Friday. And she should be able to use the Milford pool when it opens this weekend.
Left work a bit later than I'd planned. Kept it simple and just listened to EWTN on the drive home. Strange how when it's overcast like tonight, my phone is better at holding onto the 3G internet data link to keep the audio streaming. On sunny afternoons it often hiccups near the MA/NH border. Maybe the cell signal bounces off the low clouds and has better range??
Many thanks to my daughters who kept an eye on things this evening until I got home. Maria went with Michelle to the local Cancer Support Group meeting tonight. So I'm just eating a reheated dinner of Michelle's infamous Enchilada Casserole and a glass of fresh veggie juice (carrot, celery, apple, pear, blueberry) she made earlier this afternoon.
Helped Claire with her trig homework (polar and rectangular/vector math) and helped Timothy with his arithmetic (multiplying large numbers). Claire's trigonometry final on Friday. Yes, on her last day of school!
Michelle and Maria returned from the meeting. Time to tuck the boys in bed. I don't think I'll last much longer. We're a bit concerned about the weather tomorrow. It's raining overnight. What about Abby's class trip to Canobie Lake Park??
“You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others.” — Matthew 5
