Good morning! Michelle and I were watching the morning news. You know how we occasionally mention having a meal at the Red Arrow Diner in Milford? It's sister location in Manchester will be in an upcoming Adam Sandler movie.
Got the girls dropped off at their schools. Claire had her hands full as she prepared a large Subway platter for her Study Hall group today. Abby on the other hand looked a bit sad that it was still raining as I dropped her off. I've no word on whether the Canobie Lake Park trip was cancelled.
I then head down to the office, offering up the Glorious Mysteries along the way for Michelle and just listening to a couple of podcasts the rest of the way down. Michelle is dropping the boys off now at Heron Pond. It should be Heron Pond's Field Day, but again, I don't know if they'll postpone it to tomorrow.
Bought the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament for my Kindle Fire. I'd heard good things about it from a few sources. I especially like how the notes and commentaries are hyperlinked. Click... read the footnote and then hit the back arrow and continue reading the original source. Good translation too! Readable, yet accurate.
Ha! “What if I told you…” (Original source)
Busy day at work. Lots of patches and bug fixes. Eager to pack it up and head home. I want to hear how things went today for the kids: Abby and Canobie, Claire with her lunch platter, the boys with Field Day...
Left the office around 6 o'clock. The drive home was so much more pleasant than the drive to work this morning. The rain had gone. There was some sun and 74°F. I took it easy and listened to Fr. Pacwa on the drive home. Michelle says she and Maria took a Step class at the Merrimack YMCA earlier today.
Abby had a bit of a soggy day at Canobie, but still enjoyed it. The boys had their Field Day indoors. Kind of a contradiction, but what can you do. And in scary news, Subway was robbed at knifepoint shortly before Claire was going to start her shift.
I know of Claire's co-worker who was on duty during the robbery. I pictured her using the famous response, "Smith, Wesson, and Me" to the robber. YouTube video. Yes, I can daydream, but if it had been Claire, I'd agree: Give him the money!
As if the rainouts of Canobie and Field Day, and the robbery at Subway weren't enough, today we also got the news that Michael's classmate just passed away from brain cancer. I met her and her father at the Milford pool the summer before last. We had to break the news to the twins during evening prayers.
Claire was ready to be picked up right at closing tonight. I figured she'd be either really early and really behind on cleanup chores. Glad it was the former... Good night all!
