Yawn! Good morning! In effect today is the first day the kids can really feel like they're on summer vacation. It's a Monday and they don't have to go to school. Of course I still have work and Michelle is still teaching her class at the Y, so they'll tag along for that.
If I were to go all ‘insider lingo’ and say what I do, I'd say I work on the development and verification of GPUs on SoCs. But less than 1% of listeners would know what the heck that means. I accidentally stumbled across a pretty good explanation this morning.
«sigh» I wish I could kick back and relax. But it's time to haul myself out of bed and get moving. The kids are on vacation. I... am not.
Easy commute into the office this morning. No girls to get to school. Instead Michelle has to haul all the kids with her to the Y this morning when she leads her killer Step and Abs class. On the first half of the drive down I prayed the Joyful Mysteries for Michelle's continuing health, and listened to a talk on Our Lady of Pontmain the rest of the way down. It was a French Marian apparition I'd not heard of before.
And just like a Windows PC... I log into my laptop this morning and it tells me I have an Adobe update to do and a boatload of Windows Updates (29 to be specific). Hopefully my tower already did them over the weekend. Not that Linux or MacOS don't have updates, but they somehow seem quicker and less obtrusive.
It looks like my coworker Chris and I will be exchanging carpooling efforts this week. Tomorrow morning I'll pick him up as his car goes in for A/C work. Wednesday he'll pick me up so that my car can get its annual inspection.
Just spoke with Michelle. She taught a good class this morning. And yes, her sister Maria, Claire, and Abby all attended. While Abby continues to get better each time, I think she gave Michelle a bit of the 'evil eye' near the end because Michelle is much tougher than the Saturday classes Abby had been learning with.
Left work a bit early, listening to a podcast on the early Christians along the drive home. Went straight to Golds Gym for tonight's strength class and Step class. I like that Mondays I get a bit of both. The two back-to-back make for a good workout routine. When I got home I was happy to find... it's Taco Night!
Just got back from an Opus Dei Circle. Tonight's topic: Presence of God, a recurring theme in Opus Dei and its founder. When I got back the house was dark and quiet. Everyone was already in bed. You can tell Dancing with the Stars season is over now! «smirk» Perhaps that trip to the gym earlier this morning sapped any excess energy. Good night all!

‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’
But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil.” — Matthew 5
