Good morning! Michelle is at Golds Gym taking the Cardio Fusion class. When she gets back she's not sure whether she'll take the kids to Otter Lake or to the town pool. I told Claire that if you really want the lake, show that you're willing to help with all of the preparations and not just put it all on Michelle.
I had a smooth drive down to Boxborough. Luckily it wasn't hot yet. I listened to the second half of the podcast I was listening to on last night's commute. The guest was Roger Roberts, founder of Mighty in the Land. What an inspiring story!
“Socialism, in general, has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it.” — Thomas Sowell
Went with a good friend from AMD graphics for lunch at DiCapri. He is just back from his four week sabbatical, so it was good to catchup and hear about all the free time he had. Sadly when AMD acquired ATI, they didn't count their ATI start dates when computing when employees could take their five year sabbatical. It was all relative to the official date of the AMD acquisition in late 2006. So now there's been a flurry of former ATI employees taking their sabbatical this summer. A mutual friend of ours is taking his now, and another will start in a few weeks.
Looking at SigAlert for Boston. See also a Chicago example. While my phone has this kind of ability to look at traffic conditions, sometimes when I'm at my desk it would be better to know this before I head out to the car.
Today I made good progress on this difficult issue I've been tackling. Left work around 6:30pm. Caught up on news with Michelle and dad during the first half. Michelle took the kids for an evening swim at the pool. Dad is making his plans for 4th of July in River Grove. I listened to a podcast the rest of the way north.
Unfortunately my work day wasn't quite over yet. I had one last conference call to attend at 7:30. Now I'm finally through and can think about a bite of dinner.
Abby has one of her best friends sleeping over. I ordered the movie Ramona and Beezus for the kids. I think the girls might watch it tonight. Michelle and I already got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. I'm going look into what it takes to turn a Kindle Fire into a genuine Android tablet and then get some sleep. It was a long work day. Good night all!
“Thomas answered and said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’
Jesus said to him, ‘Have you come to believe because you have seen me?
Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.’ ” — John 20
