Good morning! It's the feast of St. Francis today. It's a special day for Claire as she'll take Frances as her Confirmation name in just nine days.
I dropped the older kids off at their schools and stopped by Cafe on the Oval for a couple of eggs. I'd brought my camera along my commute to work, but it's too rainy today to take some nice pictures of the autumn foliage.
I installed and played with AirDroid today. Nice! As far as I'm aware, I don't think iOS has anything quite like this: remote control and manage your phone from your computer's web browser. Pretty cool, especially for sending/receiving texts with your laptop and moving files between your phone and your computer (i.e. photos, MP3s, documents, etc.).
Your moment of internet meme overload: 8-bit Gangnam Style.
An old article from the WSJ: How Support for Abortion Became Kennedy Dogma. Put in my ReadItLater queue because I'm interested in how they went from Pro-Life to Pro-Abortion.
My favorite expression from last night's debate: Trickle Down Government. After years of hearing rants about "trickle down economics", it was a nice twist of a decades old meme. (Washington Times link)
Walked over to the cafeteria to bring back a salad. It's still drizzly out there...
I didn't stay up last night to watch the news commentaries after the presidential debates. Wow! Can I admit a tiny bit of Schadenfreude over seeing Chris Matthews meltdown? If only because Matthews was Mr. "Obama sends a thrill up my leg".
Hm. So that movie "Promised Land", which excoriates domestic hydrofracking for oil and natural gas is subsidized in large part by the United Arab Emirates? Gee, I wonder why they would do that?
“It is an old story that, while we may need somebody like Dominic to convert the heathen to Christianity, we are in even greater need of somebody like Francis, to convert the Christians to Christianity.” — G.K. Chesterton "The Dumb Ox"
Hmm. Sprint MetroNextel? (WSJ link)
Left work around 6 o'clock. 'Twas a drizzly commute home but I listened to "Right Here, Right Now" along the way.
Michelle and I said prayers with the kids and sent the boys to bed. Continuing my tradition of "becoming my father", I fell asleep while waiting for Claire's phone call. I picked her up from work and then watched a little analysis of last night's debate. Good night all!
“He said to them,
‘The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.’ ” — Luke 10
