Good morning! It's Monday and back to business as usual. I dropped the older four off at their schools. I listened to This Week in Tech #376 on the drive down. I love it when they have Jerry Pournelle on for his "old timer" perspective. I didn't realize he's a four time cancer survivor. Two skin, one brain, and one nose.
Michelle dropped Timothy off at school and is in Merrimack now about to teach her Step and Abs class. She's looking forward to a new cook stove being delivered later today. We've had enough of the flakiness of our old stove.
On my way over to the cafeteria for a salad I called Michelle to check in on her. I was happy to hear that the extra week off from chemotherapy gave her back a good deal of her stamina as she led her Step class this morning.
Michelle reports that our new cook stove is installed. The oven and burners all work consistently compared to the flakiness we've dealt with these past few years. Now she's running the oven at 350°F for a bit to burn off the oils inside that are there from manufacturing. Happy wife, Happy life.
I'm a big fan of Amazon. I can even tolerate Digital Rights Management (DRM). But when the rights owner can pull your account without an explanation as to your wrongdoing, DRM has gone awry. Read the details. I'm wondering whether it's real or a hoax.
<snarkasm>Gas prices have gone up 100%+ since Obama became president. Obviously it's because somebody out there isn't inflating their tires properly. </snarkasm>
Since Google's never gonna do it.... Thanks for the laugh @CurtJester .
Political snark of the day on Twitter: the hashtag #ObamaDebatePrep. My favorite: “Having straw flown in from Iowa farms to practice building all the men he's gonna annihilate this evening.”
I never thought of it that way... Your Mouths Looked Pretty Fed...
As a graphics guy, I'd not heard of hqx before. Pretty nifty technique for running old, retro games on new hardware with better visual quality than was available back then.
Left work a bit late tonight. Decided to do something different and listened to No Agenda #454 on the drive north. I hadn't listen to Adam and John in a while. When I got back Michelle showed me the new cook stove. I'd take a picture, but frankly it looks a lot like the old stove but with a large 5th burner. Claire is out working tonight. Michelle is watching Dancing with the Stars with the kids. I've got RCIA prep to do...
After making my notes, I watched last Sunday's Once Upon A Time on my Kindle. I got a chuckle that when I was done, I saw an advertisement for the upcoming Microsoft Surface tablet at the bottom of my Kindle Fire.
Michelle sent the boys to bed after the dance and then watched the presidential debate. Claire got a lift home tonight, sparing me from a late night run to Subway. Time to wrap up and call it a night!
“But God said to him,
‘You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you;
and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?'
Thus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself
but is not rich in what matters to God.” — Luke 12
