El Ocho

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Happy it's Friday. I dropped the older four off at their schools. I listened to The Good Fight along the commute to Boxborough. I was happy that this week's discussion was about one of my favorite saints, St. Francis de Sales. My favorite quote of his: “The measure of love is to love without measure.” 8:40am

“You can't build a reputation on what you intend to do.” — Henry Ford 1:25pm

For me to listen to tonight... NH Bishop Peter Libasci of the Diocese of Manchester interviewed on NHPR. 1:36pm

I'm hearing on the radio that our President will be in Nashua tomorrow. Hoping I can still drive to the Merrimack Y without road blockages. 2:16pm

Via hotdogsladies: “I think I accidentally upgraded to that Netflix plan where you get unlimited requests to upgrade Silverlight. Super-convenient.” 2:33pm

Why Doesn’t Planned Parenthood Provide Mammograms? Basically because it's not anywhere near as profitable. “Abortion is 125 to 165 times more profitable than mammography…” Meanwhile the President repeated the lie again on Leno a few nights ago that they do mammograms. 3:01pm

Experiences on using a Chromebook for a month. (related link) “so good I believe it deserves serious consideration.” 4:35pm

Hours logged. Weekly status written. Eager to get home, relax with the family, and keep an eye on Hurricane Sandy. 6:33pm

Windows 8 Left work later than I'd like. Listened to Tech News Today #616 hoping to hear what the pundits are thinking of Windows 8 (El Ocho!) now that it was officially launched today. I played with it a bit several months ago, but my own role at work soon deemphasized DirectX but emphasized OpenGL ES3.0 compliance, so running Windows 8 stopped being necessary. 7:42pm

Said prayers with the kids and sent the boys to bed. I've been just skimming and catching up on a bunch of news. Hoping to hear from Abby soon. She had a football game to play at tonight. 9:45pm

“Brothers and sisters:
I, a prisoner for the Lord,
urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received,
with all humility and gentleness, with patience,
bearing with one another through love”
Ephesians 4
