Good morning! Got in a bit late today as I stopped by the Milford Oval to get my hair and beard cleaned up. Listened to an old Patrick Madrid CD on the drive down. Triaged the overnight email and now to get into the testing trenches...
Went with two good friends from AMD Graphics (upstairs from us) for lunch at Il Forno. Always enjoy catching up with them. Got to catch up on holiday vacations.
A video showing off what OpenCL in the mobile GPU can do. Admittedly it's our competitor, but yes, our chips have this feature as well.
Via Matt Drudge: “There will be over 3,500 killed in USA today from abortion. No flags lowered, no presidents crying. No media hyperventilating. Normal day.”
Overheard on the radio: “God's mercy is infinite but behind us. We have to turn around to accept it.”
Left work a bit late to avoid a report of traffic a coworker had reported. After dinner I helped Timothy to stabilize his Linux laptop. We updated his BIOS firmware and added a switch to modify how Linux handles his laptop's power management. It seems to have helped it not hang when under a heavy compute load. I think we did this once before but when he switched distributions (he's now on vanilla Ubuntu 12.10), it may have been lost.
The kids all watched Disney's "Tangled" tonight. Then I got the boys down to bed with their prayers. Good night all!
“Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter,
was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus.
He first found his own brother Simon and told him,
‘We have found the Messiah,’ which is translated Christ.” — John 1
