Am I the only one whose brain hurts after watching some episodes of Doctor Who, like The Impossible Astronaut? (see photo) Caption: “That awkward moment when you get shot by your wife, in front of your wife, who then proceeds to kill your wife, while your best friend is off to the side pregnant… with your wife.”
Good morning! I'm still stuck using the third car to get to work. After topping off the gas and a quick ATM run, I stopped by Cafe on the Oval for a quick breakfast before heading down to the office. I listened to the latest Security Now #393 on my drive down. It's one of my favorite tech podcasts. Full of nitty gritty.
It's day two for dad's return to Michigan. He got as far as western PA last night. When I picked up our girls from the Pheasant Lane Mall last night, I had Claire call to get his latest. I'm glad that the weather predictions for yesterday were worse than what actually happened. Most areas south of NH got rain rather than snow. The difference of a few degrees makes! Had it been snow, the month might have been the second snowiest February on NH records. As it stands this is NH's third snowiest February on record.
Went with the local hardware guys for a going away lunch at Bamboo in Westford. Two of our experienced designers are leaving for a competitor after tomorrow.
Found: Archive of Fr. Barron's sermons. I loved his Catholicism DVD series and will download a few of these sermons to my phone. Perhaps I'll find (or make) a podcast feed for them.
Got a text from dad that he arrived back in Pure Michigan around 2 o'clock. He is such a road warrior. Soon Chicago, then before long Atlanta and Orlando. Glad he has new tires on his van.
Today's tech directed test project: Mipmap'd cubemap arrays of depth textures sampled with shadow compare and shader specified LOD or bias. My brain is stretched to near breaking. It is so far out there from a typical graphics case. I've said it before: mode is a four letter word.
Via thomaspringle: “I imagine Pope Benedict will sleep in a little later tomorrow.” I hope so too. I'll miss you, Pope Benedict. I hope you still write as much as you have. Luckily even if you don't, there's a gianormous backlog archive of your works to go through.
I'm tired of thinking about creating the texture I mentioned earlier. Time to log out and get Pearl back home. No luck with Rubinescence today. I hope her ignition key lock gets fixed tomorrow. Friday marks one week without my car, all because of a tiny key/lock issue. The rest of the car is running perfectly.
“Then Abraham said,
‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded
if someone should rise from the dead.’ ” — Luke 16
