Yet Another Snow Day

Posted by Scott at 07:08 PM

Snow - For the second week in a row the girls have another three day weekend due to a snow day today. This time isn't wasn't so much the quantity of snow. We only had a few inches in the morning but it was followed by a winter mix of sleet and rain until mid-afternoon. There were concerns that the roads might freeze over. There was also the possibility that we could have power outages due to freezing rain. I stayed home and worked remotely. Funny how in some respects I get more done that way. Around 3:30 in the afternoon I went outside to scrape the driveway. There was no reasonable way to use a snowthrower as the snow was more like a packed snowcone. The temps in Milford dropped below freezing around 5pm. Who knows, perhaps the driveway will look like a skating rink on Saturday.

Click to see the albumPhoto album - While the girls were at some friends' house in the morning, we had three girls stay here in the afternoon through dinner. I brought home take out pizzas. After dinner I worked on this photo album you see at right. You can also click on Claire's smiling face to go to the album. From there, of course, click on any of the small thumbnail pictures to see the larger version. As often seems to happen by accident, one child is not represented in this set. The poor victim this time is Abigail. I always feel a tinge of guilt when one of the kids isn't in an album set. I also tend to think in a few cases that faces got a bit washed out due to too much flash. I'm trying to figure out how to better avoid that on future indoor closeups.

after last weeks horrendous commute (2 hours to nashua, 3 hours home to concord) I called in this morning. I figure that most sane patients would not show up for routine appointments, and my practice partner (who was already in town) could see the emergencies.....
Tomorrow will be scrape the driveway time here as well.

Great pictures Scott - I will call Grandpa Bilik today and have him check them out as well. He always enjoys seeing pictures of the kids!
