Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 08:57 PM

Found out yesterday that a job I interviewed for but turned down about two years ago never filled the position and recently the office shut down. Phew! 8:06am

I was a bit worried this morning when I saw my paystub. It was missing two days of pay. Then I remembered that my employer initially overpaid me for two days on my first paystub back in early July. Again: Phew! 9:27am

I've been living under a rock: NetNewsWire is went free and now syncs with Google Reader? Will this be enough to wean me off of Bloglines? I used NetNewsWire back in its early days but later went to Bloglines because I could keep up with my feeds anywhere and stay in sync. Perhaps now the tide will shift to a midway point. 11:04am

Just made Michelle crack up when I reminded her of Sen. Kennedy's children's book written from the fictional point of view of his dog named [wait for it...] Splash. (related link) Somewhere Mary Jo Kopechne isn't laughing. "Splash... very funny Ted, very funny..." 7:26pm

Enjoying surfing my RSS feeds in NetNewsWire again. It's been years but the tool seems so much improved now. Meanwhile Claire has been modeling her new school outfits to me. She'll be stylin' in her own unique way. 7:47pm

There are many times per day when I wonder whether all of this tech we work on is worth anything. It's a cynicism that comes with my line of work. However I just saw two videos taken minutes ago of my six month old niece in Florida just learning to crawl. I'm looking forward to another six months from now when she'll be taking her first steps. Good night all! 8:54pm
