Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Happy feast of Saint John of the Cross. Milford school district has called a two hour delay, but so far Merrimack has not. So it looks like Michelle has to drive to Merrimack to teach while the kidlets stay here and wait for the bus. Well, at least I'm home to keep an eye on 'em. 6:09am

The girls just boarded the school bus. Usually by now I'd be home already from dropping off the boys. Instead they're still playing downstairs. Michelle is at the Merrimack Y to kick some aerobi-mommy glutes. 8:54am

Had two MacBook firmware (PC guys: think BIOS) updates to do this morning. While my work computer boots and logs in, I'd better look into re-upping my IEEE membership for another year. Cha-ching! $$. 9:11am

Sittin' out on the front porch, watching the boys waiting for the bus. It sunny, 38F, with no wind. It feels nice and should start melting this snow. 9:50am

Had lunch with Michelle at the Milford Cafe on the Oval. Back to work, but glad to see the sun melting our driveway! 1:31pm

Had a good Step & abs workout at Golds. Wrapping up my work so I can enjoy some dinner. 7:14pm

After putting the boys down to bed, I found myself dozing while watching "Suite Life" with Abby. I am so turning into my father. G'Night all. 8:49pm

Bookmarks I made today:

The Courtship of Greg's Puppet
Comment: You know, when Greg Willits got his own muppet last month, I wasn't all *that* jealous, but now I'm starting to think differently... You can listen to Greg and his wife Jennifer on Sirius 159/XM 117 from 10am to 1pm EST.
Excerpt: A day in the life of me with one of my newest best friends.

The Making of a New Super Mario Bros. - WSJ
Comment: So excited for Christmas morning!
Excerpt: Nintendo's Bill Trinen speaks with The Journal about the latest incarnation of the Super Mario Bros. videogame series.

Drive My Car - Limos at the COP15 Copenhagen
Comment: Remember folks, do as they say, not as they do...[/eye_roll]
Excerpt: Americans for Prosperity investigates the "carbon-conscious" way many U.N. delegates are getting to the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15).

Microsoft China rips off Asia’s No. 1 Microblogging Service « Plurk Labs
Comment: I may not use Plurk anymore, but only because of time. Plurk was a unique social networking/microblogging site and it looks like it was directly ripped off in China.
Excerpt: Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but blatant theft of code, design, and UI elements is just not cool, especially when the infringing party is the biggest software company in the world. Yes, we’re talking about Microsoft. Blerg.

Aprepitant: EMEND
Comment: Wanted to learn more about this wicked, wicked expensive anti-nausea pill that was prescribed to Michelle this week. ~$1700/16 pills! Thank goodness it was covered. Our co-pay was $40.

MyHeritage.org: Will You Help Keep the Conservative Momentum Going?
Comment: I made my contribution. If you lean conservative/libertarian, consider doing so.
Excerpt: One year ago, Americans had just elected Barack Obama as president, and he promised to enact the most progressive agenda in U.S. history. The mainstream media had declared conservative ideas outdated and the conservative movement dead.
