Fresh cuts

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Left the house a few minutes late but also stopped on the way to get a fresh haircut. Michelle is debating going back to the “chic” haircut she had when we went on our summer vacation. She likes it, I like it, but the kids don't. I listened to some of Security Now #290 for the first part of my drive and caught up with my dad the second half. Security Now has to be one of my favorite tech podcasts. While other tech podcasts cover the latest developments at Google, Apple, Facebook, etc. on Security Now Steve Gibson discusses the latest developments in computer security news. But he doesn't just skim. He goes into great detail on how the exploit worked or didn't and what can be done to protect yourself. It's tech with a lot of “meat”. 9:50am

Humor: I want my flying car! 10:05am

The more I use LastPass, the more I love it. Even given the minor flaw found last week, it still didn't expose user's passwords and the company fixed it within hours. I really must write a weblog entry about it someday... 11:25am

Met my work goals for debug today. Head north listening to today's BOL #1419. Went straight to Golds for tonight's Muscle Mix class. Nicely fatigued and so ready for some dinner. The girls are back home from their couple of days up in Belmont, NH. Michelle did get her haircut today, much to the dismay of our girls who want her to grow it out to shoulder length again. 8:08pm

Blackberry Messenger coming to Android and iOS?Two tech rumors today, one sad, one cool:
1. Mitsubishi is going to axe their pocket rocket sleeper cars, the Evo line. Those cars are insanely fast but it looks like Mitsubishi is going to drop their performance enthusiasts and pursue the greenie hybrid crowd. Either that or there was market confusion with the HTC EVO phones. ;-]
2. BlackBerry Messenger will launch on Android and soon thereafter Apple iOS devices, assuming The Steve doesn't block it from the App Store. 8:56pm

Whoo! Brisk night ahead. 15°F now and it could get down to around -5°F. Turned off the wood stoves for the night and am going to rely on good ol' petroleum based fuel to heat the house tonight. ;-] Good night all! 9:40pm
