Sync it up

Good morning! And a chilly one as I left the house it was 8°F. Of course it's already warmed to 19°F and is expected to get to the lower 30's. That's supposed to be the end of the cold snap for several days. I stopped by Café on the Oval for a hearty breakfast before heading in. 9:08am

I listened to This Week in Google #84 on the way in. One of the subtle tidbits I overheard was that Leo, the host, also uses FastMail for his primary email service. He has all of his GMail forwarded there. I know it's a paid for email service in this day of Hotmail, YahooMail, and GMail, but I think it's affordable and worth it. They are also great if you serve static web sites as their file hosting if very efficient. 9:12am

Also while driving in I thought of a couple of new optimizations I want to do for the Bilikfamily web site. These were optimizations I knew of for the past couple of years but many browsers couldn't deal with them. Now that even Internet Explorer has had a few updates as well as Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, I think it's safer to roll them out now. Perhaps I'll get some time this weekend... 9:14am

Michelle teaches two fitness classes today. She's teaching her Hi/Lo class now in Merrimack. Our girls are taking it with her too, since they have this week off from school. Later tonight she'll teach her CardioBlast class in Milford. In between she's hoping to take all the kids roller skating this afternoon. They've been bugging her about it for several weeks and she kept putting it off saying, “when you're on winter break we'll go”. 9:17am

Went for lunch with some AMD/ATI GPU guys at Il Forno in Acton. Between the big breakfast and now this lunch, I think I'm set for today. ugh 1:16pm

Link to download the Google Calendar / Outlook sync program Laughing: Sun Shade... If only you could attach it to a hat. 1:17pm

Humor: Perl - For The Win! 1:19pm

Broke down and decided to sync my work Outlook calendar with Google's calendar. Now my phone will have work as well as personal calendar notifications. 2:16pm

Last changes submitted revision control. Time cards logged. Status reports updated. New regressions kicked off. Time to log out and start the weekend. 5:55pm

Smooth commute back to NH listening to yesterday's TNT along the way. I really need to find a new audio book this weekend. When I got back Claire was schoolin' us with her Just Dance 2 skillz and Michelle was telling me about her Cardio Blast class. 7:15pm

Following up on one of my earlier website optimization ideas, I created a script to facilitate the generation of what are called data URLs or data URIs. Will be trying it out for the next few days, as I tried it by hand yesterday with the BlackBerry image. Good night all! 9:27pm
