Patriots' Day

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Something about yesterday must have really wiped me out. When we came back from dinner, I laid down for a bit and fell asleep for the rest of the night. You could say that I'm feeling well rested now. Time to get ready for work... 6:14am

I dropped the girls off at school and head to the office. Needed to get a fillup this morning: $4.19/gal for diesel. This after weeks of it holding steady at $4.05. Since today was is Patriots' Day in Massachusetts the schools are closed and the roads open. I listened to a little more of Security Now on the drive in. 9:21am

Attended a class on Open Source Licensing and what it means for a company like Qualcomm which makes around three billion a year on IP licensing. 11:57am

Michelle and I had been wavering on whether to renew our family YMCA membership for another year. Today Michelle did. The Nashua YMCA is moving into a nice new facility. She also mentioned that the YMCAs in New England will soon have an "alliance" (much like Golds does) that let you use your YMCA memberships at facilities other than the one you signed up at. When I get the time, I'll have to look at the schedules for the ones in Lancaster and Fitchburg, because they are sort of along my drive home. 12:12am

We're getting lazier as we get older. Today a yard service came to the house, cleaned the mulch beds, added fresh mulch, and de-thatched/swept the lawn. Normally that's a spring cleanup we would have wasted a weekend doing. 2:07pm

Left work later than I'd hoped. I got sucked into a debug rathole which I eventually solved. I've missed both my class at Golds and my planned Opus Dei Circle. Relaxed by listening to the most recent No Agenda on my commute home. Along with Fox's RedEye, No Agenda is one of my guilty pleasures. The yard looks nice. Not very green yet, but that'll come soon. 7:28pm
