Another long day

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! I dropped the girls off at their schools and head into the office, listening to the rest of No Agenda. Looks like there's a busy day ahead... 8:37am

Man! Storage growth is as amazing as the processor performance. Amazon just sent me an email to grab a 2 terabyte drive for $99. If I do it right, I could use it to backup every machine in the house. 9:23am

Laughing at this domain name choice: PeopleFamiliarWithTheMatter.com. 10:29am

My Visual Studio is possessed! It's locked up and at the bottom status bar it says “Updating Intellisense... (666)”. Locking up at 666?! Queue the evil sounding music... 10:51am

See the Fulton Sheen story at Time in 1952“Sometimes the part of the house that is repaired is the strongest part in the end.” — Archbishop Fulton Sheen. Reminds me of the deck in our last house. We so over-engineered its rebuild that should a hurricane come and flatten that house, the deck will still be there. 11:42am

Thought it had been a quiet day email-wise. Just realized Outlook's connection to the server was broken since 8:45am and lying to me. Now catching up on ~90 emails I missed. 3:30pm

Been another long day at work. Time to log out and head north... 6:14pm

Smooth drive home but in the rain. Called my dad to catch up on the news of mom's health. Mom is doing much better. The tracheal tube was removed yesterday and she can also eat without the feeding tube. Then listened to All About Android #4 the rest of the way. 7:48pm
