Half with My Better Half

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning everyone! Today is a special day for me. If you do the day counting math, today I've been married half my life. Half my life spent with my much better half. And I'm still insanely crazy about her. How can that be after so long?! I'm working from home today because of some scheduling conflicts. I'm also praying that my mom's Navelbine chemo treatment goes okay today. 7:45am

Annoyed with the new Facebook changes? Have you considered or wanted to give Google+ a try? Well, it's open now to anyone. You can find me there. I signed up back when it was in beta and have to say, it's really good. But... is it good enough to pull folks away from the habit that is Facebook?? One thing about Google+ is that you "see" it everywhere in Google's other related services. When you use Google, GCal, GMail, Google Docs, etc. you see the notifier along the top that includes status update notices. In that way it tends to keep drawing you back. 10:33am

See more about Eye-Fi cardsUPS guy came to drop off the Eye-Fi card for my new lil' pocket camera. Meanwhile Michelle is doing what she loves most in this awesome early autumn weather: play in the dirt. She's like a toned down version of my father in that respect. 10:35am

I'm that 0.01% geek who wishes my Eye-Fi card could upload directly to Amazon S3. Instant backup. Instead my pictures will be backed up to Flickr. 10:37am

Thumbnail of Just MeMy lil' pocket camera (a Sony Cybershot) that I won last Friday is now setup with the Eye-Fi. Auto-uploads to my laptop & Flickr. 11:27am

Went with my better half for lunch at Cafe on the Oval. Awesome Chicken Cordon Bleu. Another upside is seeing the townie's that you grow to know over time. Afterwards stopped by DFE for a pumpkin spice coffee. Now it's back to work and Michelle is off to radiology for her daily zap. 12:42am

Trying out the new Pandora. 1:07pm

Michelle and Abby have returned from the pet groomer, where Snicker (aka Fluffbomb) got one of his periodic Doodle-cuts. 3:57pm

So one of my guilty pleasures is the No Agenda podcast with Adam Curry and John C. Dvorak. On the tech news front I enjoy the Buzz Out Loud (BOL) podcast on CNET. Today BOL had Adam Curry on as one of the in studio guests. Best episode of BOL ever! Mixing tech news and commentary with the contrarian/semi-conspiratorial viewpoint of Adam. There's a reason Adam goes by the moniker "Crackpot". 4:01pm

Wrapped up around 5:30pm and went to the Step 'n Abs class at Golds. Michelle is dropping the girls off for their youth group meeting. 7:09pm

One of my kids' favorite Disney tv shows is the new series "Shake It Up!". Watched a bit of it tonight. It feeds their desire to dance, as if "Just Dance" on the Wii wasn't enough. On Shake It Up my favorite character is Gunther, a dancer from the old country who thinks he's "all that" as he greets people with his classic line, “Hello Baybee”. 7:37pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Drove out to pick up Claire and Abby from youth group. Feeling pretty tired. Good night all! 9:20pm
